Jennifer Lyman, MD, MPH

I am a board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry. Based on O’ahu, I offer both in-person and telehealth services to support women across the islands.

Born and raised on O’ahu, I am a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools, Stanford University, the University of Hawai’i and the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

During residency, I served as the Chief Psychiatrist with the Hawai’i Residency Programs and have continued to deepen my expertise with advanced training in perinatal mental health psychopharmacology through the Postpartum Support International. On an ongoing basis, I participate in lectures and trainings hosted by the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Women’s Health and Postpartum International to ensure that I am up to date with the latest evidence in this ever-growing field.

I’ve also completed a Certificate in Nutritional Psychiatry through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, which reflects my commitment to whole-person care.

My clinical approach is validating, empowering and solution-oriented. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual; I aim to find the right medication at the appropriate dose to provide improvement in the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Discussions about nutrition and supplements can be included if this is important to you. I can also incorporate therapy modalities including mindfulness and distress tolerance tools into our appointments if that is your preference.

Additionally, as a mother myself, there is a lived empathy that I can lend.

I am passionate about holding space for women throughout the ebbs of motherhood, hormonal changes and life transitions so that our communities will flourish.
